British Columbia Lottery Corporation/Media Release: B.C. Poker Players Get Set for World Poker Championship in Las Vegas

RICHMOND, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - Dec. 5, 2007) - Fifteen lucky B.C. poker players will be heading to the 2007 Three Card Poker World Championship in Las Vegas for a chance to win the $500,000US top prize, December 16 to 19, 2007.

The players won their seats to the annual tournament through British Columbia Lottery Corporation's (BCLC) second province-wide Three Card Poker contest.

"We are pleased to give B.C. poker players the opportunity to compete in the Three Card Poker World Championship," said Darryl Schiewe, BCLC's Acting Vice President of Casino Gaming. "Last year, one of our winners scooped one of the top prizes at the championship. Hopefully, we'll have a repeat performance this year."

In B.C. casinos from July 16 to October 31, 2006, every Three Card Poker player, who was dealt a Mini-Royal (Ace-King-Queen suited) and made a minimum table bet, was automatically entered into a draw for a seat in the world championship.

Each winner receives a $4,000US entry fee, three nights accommodation at the Wynn in Las Vegas, and $2,000CDN for travel expenses. The winners are:

Three Card Poker is an exciting poker game with three ways to play and four different ways to win. Players can bet against the dealer on the value of their own three-card hand or they can bet on both.
