Brits Bought 13% More Shoes Than French Women, Say Sarenza

PARIS, FRANCE--(Marketwire - Jan. 28, 2011) - Online shoe shop, Sarenza have revealed that 56% of British women have purchased shoes online compared with only 43% of French women.

Despite Sarenza being founded in France, it seems British shoe lovers are pipping their chic French counterparts to the post in terms of shoe sales from the site. It would seem that British fashionistas love buying shoes just that little bit more, but Sarenza think it has more to do with the culture of online shopping.

'We have a huge following in our native country,' said a spokesperson for Sarenza, who feature popular brands such as Geox on their website, 'French women definitely love buying stylish shoes, as they are famous for. However, the culture of online shopping is more mature in the UK than in France at the moment which could explain things. It could change in the future though, with French shoppers catching up to online-savvy British shoppers quickly'.

However, 2011 promises to be an even bigger year for online fashion retailing in the UK; market research company, Mintel predict that UK consumers will spend 20% more on clothing, technology and communications than they did last year.

According to the study, people have continued spending within the clothing industry, despite a general downward trend with people being more careful and cutting back on their spending following the recession. But this year promises to be an even greater year for the industry, although people will be looking to buy essential items.

Sarenza specialise in providing the highest quality shoes from all over the world, which are made from the best materials and using the most respected techniques. From innovative, environmentally friendly methods to brands which have been around for over a hundred years and are renowned for their quality, Sarenza shoes are an investment.

Their collections range from all over Italy, Spain and France, where names such as Camper are hugely popular and through Sarenza's 1 year old UK website are becoming more well known over here too. The leading online shoe shop has already introduced many British women to the quality of continental brands they won't find anywhere else and continue to add many gorgeous and unique names to its product range.
