WASHINGTON, DC--(Marketwired - Apr 30, 2014) - A unique coalition of partners from around the world are coming together to present "Peace Through Music", a classical historic musical celebration of the canonizations of Pope John Paul II and Pope John XXIII in the spirit of Pope Francis. Broadcast Management Group will be providing full production services.
The concert, created and conducted by the famed American conductor Sir Gilbert Levine, celebrates the Pope's devotion to peace and brotherhood among people of all faiths. The musical celebration will be broadcast worldwide on PBS. The event will be presented by Cardinal Donald Wuerl and the Archdiocese of Washington, Georgetown University, the ambassadors of Poland, Italy, and Argentina, and PBS.
Pope Francis formally proclaimed the sainthood of the two popes during an April 27th papal ceremony at the Vatican. Cardinal Donald Wuerl and the Archdiocese of Washington; Georgetown University, the ambassadors of Poland, Italy and Argentina; and PBS will present the American celebration of the event on May 5th in the nation's capital at DAR Constitution Hall.
BMG's CEO, Todd Mason will serve as the Executive in Charge of Production and will be under the direction of Executive Producer, Dennis O'Brien. BMG's Executive Vice President, Max Schindler, will be serving as Technical Director for the project and BMG's Vice President, Andrew Ryback, will serve as Production Manager. "The BMG team will include over 55 top broadcast production personnel to handle all staging, lighting, and video for this international broadcast," said Todd Mason. "We will be bringing in a 53-foot HD expando truck and 53-foot support unit for this project, which will once again be provided by our trusted production partner, NEP," said Andrew Ryback. Handling sound for the concert will be Sound Mirror, an audio recording company based in Boston, MA. The concert will be directed by renowned classical music director, Janos Darvas.
