BroadCause Partners With The V Foundation Wine Celebration to Rally Online Audiences Around Cancer Research

BroadCause Social Campaign to Raise Awareness, Funds and Engage Virtual Audience for Annual Fundraiser

SAN FRANCISCO, CA--(Marketwire - Jul 18, 2011) - BroadCause, a platform for social good, today launched a partnership with The V Foundation Wine Celebration to build online awareness and engagement for its 13th annual event, which will take place in Napa Valley, California, on August 5 and 6.

The annual wine event brings together 450 prominent members of the sports broadcasting, entertainment, media, lifestyle, technology, investment and winemaking worlds to raise money to fund vital research in the fight against all types of cancer. 100% of the net proceeds will benefit The V Foundation for Cancer Research to fund research projects in California selected by The V Foundation Scientific Advisory Board.

By using the BroadCause platform, The V Foundation Wine Celebration is tapping the social Web to expand the reach of its offline event, attract online participants and make the initiative accessible to a virtual audience. Sports legends such as Duke University Head Coach Mike Krzyzewski, Basketball Hall of Fame member Dick Vitale and other sports broadcasting personalities will lend their support to this effort.

Starting today, the campaign will be featured on the BroadCause homepage for two weeks. The BroadCause platform will be used to manage all event details, collect donations and manage the event's raffle, which includes a 2012 Bentley, valued at over $190,000. All online traffic will be directed to the BroadCause site, which will be the main online destination for the event. As part of the partnership, BroadCause will also debut its new auctions management feature set. The V Foundation Wine Celebration will be launching a week-long online auction through BroadCause on July 25.

BroadCause will spread awareness around the initiative via its built-in social engagement engine, which taps its engaged and passionate user base through Twitter, Facebook and Experience Project to generate more than two million impressions per day.

"BroadCause adds a new online dimension to our annual event, giving us the capability to access and engage virtual audiences in a way that we never have before," said Jane Brovelli, Executive Director, The V Foundation Wine Celebration. "Through BroadCause, we can not only organize and manage the event itself, but we'll also greatly increase the event's reach, raising new awareness and funds for critical cancer research. This partnership will allow us to expose this important initiative and cause to millions of new people."

"The V Foundation is a pioneer in bringing together and engaging the sports industry to rally support and contribute to cancer research," said Peter Jackson, CEO, Experience Project. "BroadCause is built around a passionate, active and social community that is ready to help, and we are honored to be working together to share this annual event with brand new audiences who will get involved and support the cause."

Since the event's inception in 1999, The V Foundation Wine Celebration has raised more than $35 million for the fight against cancer. As in previous years, funds raised at The V Foundation Wine Celebration will support a number of cancer research projects in California and throughout the United States.
