BroadCause Teams Up With United Way Worldwide to Recruit One Million Volunteers for Education

LIVE UNITED(R) Campaign Aims to Recruit One Million Readers, Tutors and Mentors to Help Kids Stay in School

SAN FRANCISCO, CA--(Marketwire - April 5, 2011) - BroadCause, a platform for social good that engages and activates passionate communities around the causes that are most important to them, today launched a week-long campaign to raise awareness for United Way's major commitment to improve education across the country. LIVE UNITED®, United Way's grassroots campaign to mobilize people to make a difference in the areas of education, income and health, now aims to recruit one million volunteer readers, tutors and mentors to help improve outcomes for young people. BroadCause, a product of Experience Project, was officially released today.

BroadCause is the first offering of its kind that connects the dots between socially conscious brands, non-profits and charities of all sizes, and people who want to make a difference through a single, comprehensive platform.

Non-profit organizations and charities, large and small, can use BroadCause for free to rally their supporters online by managing their social Web presence, members and email contacts, as well as fundraising efforts and events. Brands can use BroadCause to authentically align themselves with causes and raise awareness for charities that matter to them and their fans. Featured BroadCause campaigns reach an engaged and passionate user base and generate more than two million impressions every day. To date, BroadCause has worked in partnership with some of the world's largest brands, including Sony, Nestlé, Paramount Pictures and American Express.

"BroadCause will help United Way reach and mobilize people who are passionate about education and looking for a way to make a difference," says Iavor Ivanov, director of online engagement at United Way Worldwide. "We've partnered with BroadCause for the launch of this ambitious project because we believe in the BroadCause community's power to impact real change."

The LIVE UNITED BroadCause campaign works to encourage as many people as possible to pledge one hour per week to becoming educational volunteers in their communities through Tweets, Facebook posts and Experience Project stories. To learn more, visit www.broadcause.com.
