BroadHop, BT, Mobily and Telesperience Deliberate Key Operator Policy Management Criteria at Policy Control Conference

Policy 2.0 Session Red Flags Shortcomings of Traditional Policy and PCRF Approach

DENVER, CO and AMSTERDAM, THE NETHERLANDS--(Marketwire - March 30, 2011) -  BroadHop, Inc., the leader in next generation policy control platforms for telecom operators, today announced that Bill Diotte, CEO of BroadHop, will join leading mobile operator executives from BT and Mobily and independent telecoms IT analyst company Telesperience in a panel session deliberating key operator policy management criteria at the Informa Policy Control Conference being held April 5-6 at the Marriott Hotel, Amsterdam. BroadHop also announced it will host a session, "Understanding how Policy 2.0 addresses today's most critical operator challenges and builds a future proof foundation for tomorrow's networks."

The panel will address interoperability with BSS/OSS solutions, examine policy support for 3G and 4G services, consider how to enable a scalable platform with a complete view of subscriber behavior and ability to run 'what if' scenarios, and discuss pure play policy management and service agnostic PCRF. Joining BroadHop's Diotte are panel chair, Teresa Cottam, Research Director, Telesperience; Walid Thabet, Director Data Services, Mobily, Saudi Arabia; and Linda Grimaldi, Principal Consulting Architect, BT, USA.

BroadHop's Policy 2.0 Session will examine the operator business and network transformation that is underway and red flag the shortcomings of the traditional policy and PCRF approach. Bill Diotte will define the capabilities that policy vendors must provide to power the next phase of operator, network, and subscriber growth and provide an approach for scaling up policy management while dramatically reducing the total cost of ownership of the burgeoning Policy 2.0 buildout. Using real world use cases, Diotte will identify new opportunities made possible with next generation policy capabilities.

"Policy management vendor selection has never been as critical a decision as it is today," said Bill Diotte. "Operators are demanding flexibility, scalability and cost assurance as they look to solve capacity crunch, deliver new subscriber services and increase ARPU simultaneously. By maintaining a traditional policy and PCRF approach, operator policy infrastructure will be overwhelmed by the sheer volume of transactions and by the long lead times required to develop and deliver competitive, new services. Policy 2.0 technology must address today's most critical operator challenges, and build a future proof platform for tomorrow's dynamic and expansive networks."
