BroadSoft Hosts Third Annual 'Korea VoIP Industry Forum'

Forum for Fixed and Mobile Telecom Providers to Include Discussion of Regulatory Issues, Residential Offerings and New Web 2.0 Solutions

SEOUL, KOREA--(Marketwire - April 23, 2008) - BroadSoft, Inc., a leading provider of VoIP application software, today announced that it will host the third annual invitation-only "Korea VoIP Industry Forum" at the COEX Intercontinental Hotel in Seoul on May 7.

This year's VoIP forum will feature a panel discussion, "Open Access," which covers regulatory issues in Korea and how open access could benefit both customers and telecom companies. The panel will include HJ Kim, managing director of BT Korea.

The Korea VoIP Industry Forum will also cover how service providers can differentiate their residential offerings, and how new unified communications (UC) solutions from companies such as Microsoft might impact business services. Also, a special session will cover how service providers can use Web 2.0 mashups with telephony features to deliver new services to businesses and consumers.

"This year's VoIP forum comes at an exciting time for telecommunications in Korea," said noted Korean telecom veteran Park Hak-song, who serves as senior counselor of BroadSoft's Korea division and is honorary chairman of the Korea VoIP Industry Forum. "The prospect of open access could result in more competition and new service offerings that benefit all involved -- end-users and providers. Also, Korea's leading telecom providers realized great success with business services in the last year and are now considering exciting multimedia and bundled offerings for the residential market."

Last year, the exclusive Korea VoIP Industry Forum was attended by top-level executives from Korea's major telecommunications companies, including CJ Systems, KTF, Samsung Networks, IBM Korea, Nable Communications, NewOn Sys, LG Dacom and SK Telink.

At this year's forum, attendees will hear best practices and learn from case studies featuring successful rollouts of residential and fixed-mobile services in other markets. Also, attendees will learn about Web 2.0 mashups that add advanced voice calling features to popular business and consumer applications such as WebEx and Facebook.

"This invitation-only forum will be packed with useful information: insights into bundle pricing, an overview of the global VoIP market and the importance of using a proven hosted telephony platform when deploying UC solutions from Microsoft or IBM," said James Angelone, BroadSoft's country manager for Korea. "With the panel on open access, this will be the best Korea VoIP Industry Forum yet."
