BroadSoft Introduces BroadWorks Mobility Manager to Bridge the Gap Between Mobile and VoIP Networks

BroadWorks Mobility Manager Enables Mobile Carriers to Quickly Deploy and Commercialize FMC and Dual-Mode Services

BARCELONA, SPAIN -- (MARKET WIRE) -- February 12, 2007 -- 3GSM WORLD CONGRESS -- BroadSoft, Inc., a leading provider of VoIP application software, today introduced the BroadWorks® Mobility Manager, a component of the BroadWorks application platform that enables mobile operators to quickly deploy and commercialize fixed-mobile convergence (FMC) and dual-mode services. The BroadWorks Mobility Manager interfaces to the Mobile Network Operator's existing Intelligent Network to leverage existing applications, such as pre-paid calling and roaming, in addition to enabling new FMC applications, such as seamless call handover between VoIP and circuit-switched domains.

BroadSoft's Mobile PBX application enhanced with the BroadWorks Mobility Manager enables full convergence of fixed and mobile for both all-mobile small businesses and converged enterprises with both fixed and mobile endpoints.

Suitable for both today's networks and IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) networks, the BroadWorks Mobility Manager provides call routing, continuity, and seamless handover between IP domains and circuit-switched domains. Compatible with both GSM and CDMA networks, the solution allows 2G and 2.5G mobile phones to access a SIP-based platform and obtain enhanced business services. Also, the BroadWorks Mobility Manager allows operators to provide Voice Call Continuity (VCC) for dual-mode handsets -- mobile phones that function both on normal cellular connections and Wi-Fi connections. This allows operators to extend to dual-mode mobile devices BroadWorks Mobile PBX communications features, including extension dialing, integrated corporate directory, attendant support, PBX integration and self-service configuration.

Operator Benefits

The new BroadWorks Mobility Manager enables the BroadWorks Mobile PBX application to provide mobile operators a superior differentiated FMC enterprise offering compared to IP PBXs and pure mobile IN solutions.

"BroadWorks Mobility Manager offers an exciting new market opportunity for mobile operators to accelerate deployment and delivery of VoIP services to the fast-growing, high-margin mobile business market segment," said Scott Hoffpauir, CTO for BroadSoft. "With BroadWorks Mobility Manager, operators can leverage Mobile PBX to improve ARPU through new FMC and dual-mode service offerings, thereby building usage and customer loyalty while reducing customer churn. BroadSoft is uniquely positioned to offer this integrated, flexible solution that builds on our best-in-class BroadWorks VoIP platform to benefit the mobile business market."

Target Audience

The BroadWorks Mobile PBX application allows mobile operators to target enterprises with mobile workers who want receptionist and auto call handling, and access to group services. For all-mobile SMBs, operators can reduce the SMB infrastructure costs and increase the frequency of first call completion. For converged enterprises, operators can provide an "any device, anywhere" solution, allowing ubiquitous access via desk phone, PC softphone, and mobile and dual-mode phones.

BroadWorks Mobility Manager is now available globally and is being demonstrated at 3GSM World Congress (February 12-15) at BroadSoft's Hospitality suites in Hall 4 level 6 #4.6HS38 and 4.6HS50.
