BroadWare and VBrick Form Technology Alliance to Expand Digital Video Security and Surveillance Capabilities

Integration of "Ruggedized" VBrick Appliance With BroadWare Open Video Management Platform Provides Flexible, Scalable Solutions for Mission-Critical Surveillance Applications

SANTA CLARA, CA and WALLINGFORD,CT -- (MARKET WIRE) -- March 7, 2006 -- BroadWare Technologies and VBrick Systems, Inc., today announced a partnership to provide an end-to-end digital video security and surveillance solution that delivers new levels of agility and performance. The BroadWare/VBrick solution enables users to capture, store and distribute live digital video via Internet Protocol (IP) networks. VBrick's ruggedized VBrick Security, Surveillance, and Monitoring (VBSSM) appliance now integrates seamlessly into BroadWare's open digital video platform -- creating the market's most advanced solution for dynamic, mission-critical security and surveillance applications.

"When protecting critical infrastructures and assets, organizations cannot afford to take chances on unproven technologies," said William Stuntz, chief executive officer, BroadWare Technologies. "VBrick has an extensive surveillance market customer base and track record of innovation and performance. By combining technologies, BroadWare and VBrick provide the market with a leading end-to-end digital video security and surveillance solution."

The VBSSM appliance delivers full-motion, high-quality video in harsh environments using only minimal bandwidth. Smaller and lighter than most laptop computers, the economical VBSSM deploys almost anywhere, including on top of telephone poles, in transportation vehicles, as well as in and around office buildings. Certified to work in temperatures between -20 and 70° C, the VBSSM compresses NTSC/PAL video in real time and transmits it digitally via an IP network. The video is then displayed on TV monitors, or on PCs through desktop decoder software such as VBrick's StreamPlayer or Microsoft® Windows Media® Player.

"We look forward to working with BroadWare to provide differentiated digital video surveillance solutions that are robust, highly scalable and cost effective," said Fred Geyer, CEO of VBrick Systems, Inc. "By integrating with BroadWare's Media Platform, we are well positioned to provide organizations with advanced video management solutions that economically provide the performance and reliability for surveillance, process monitoring and intelligent transportation system applications."

BroadWare provides an open standards based platform for distributing visual intelligence in a wide variety of formats over IP networks. BroadWare supports any camera, any video analytic software, any storage device, on any scale. Boeing, Honeywell, Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman, Raytheon, Siemens and Unisys have all built security solutions on the BroadWare Media Platform. It has been deployed at major airports, seaports, transit systems, government agencies and military bases around the world.
