Broadway Legend Pia Zadora Debuting New Show, "Pia Reloaded," in New York City

LOS ANGELES, CA--(Marketwired - Aug 4, 2014) - Internationally beloved and iconic entertainer Pia Zadora is back and better than ever, wooing fans with a brand new musical revue celebrating her extraordinary career and life! Pia Reloaded will debut on August 5, 2014, at New York City's famous Metropolitan Room for a five-show engagement!

A New York native, the multi-talented Pia has established herself as a rare breed of performer who has earned critical and commercial success on both stage and screen. She made her Broadway debut early in life at the tender age of 6 alongside screen and stage icon Tallulah Bankhead, and between the ages of 10 and 12, she was delighting fans with her performance as Tevye's youngest daughter Bielke in the original Broadway cast of Fiddler on the Roof, opposite Zero Mostel. Subsequent featured roles followed in hit plays such as Applause, Promises Promises, The Sound of Music, Little Mary Sunshine, Funny Girl, Damn Yankees, Dames at Sea, and Crazy For You.

In 1982, Pia metamorphosed her stage presence into an eclectic film career with a breakout role in Butterfly, for which she won the Golden Globe for "New Star of the Year in a Motion Picture." This smash debut led to a notable appearance in John Waters' 1988 classic Hairspray, where she uttered the infamously sexy line, "Let's get naked and smoke," the title role in the cult classic The Lonely Lady, and a comedic turn in 1994's Naked Gun 33 1/3: The Final Insult with Leslie Nielsen.

Zadora's powerful voice gained her a musical following in Europe and she enjoyed a string of hit singles around the world. She was nominated for a GRAMMY Award for Best Female Rock Vocal Performance for the song "Rock It Out" in 1984. In the late 1980s, Pia recorded and released Pia & Phil, an album of standards with the London Philharmonic Orchestra. Soon after in the early 1990s, Frank Sinatra invited Pia to tour with him as his opening act.

In June 2014, Pia was a highlight during the 50th anniversary celebration of Fiddler on the Roof at Broadway's Town Hall, where she shared memories of the once-in-a-lifetime experience that had defined and cradled her fledgling career. Recently, the accomplished singer has been showcasing a nightclub persona week-in-and-week-out in her signature cabaret room, "Pia's Place" within the famous Piero's Italian Cuisine in Las Vegas, drawing the attention of notable celebrities, entertainment professionals and other high-profile individuals.

Pia Reloaded is backed by former Sinatra pianist Vinnie Falcone and directed by Emmy, Golden Globe and Las Vegas Star of the Year-winning producer, Jeff Kutash. All costumes and gowns are designed by fashion icon, Bob Mackie.
