Broderbund and The Learning Company Games to Be Available for Download at Libraries

CLEVELAND, OH--(Marketwire - June 12, 2007) - Library patrons will soon be downloading best-selling interactive games and software as a result of an agreement announced today between OverDrive, a leading digital media services vendor to libraries, and Riverdeep, the leading provider of interactive products focusing on education.

As a result of today's announcement, libraries will be adding to their OverDrive digital collection such beloved educational software and game products including "Kid Pix®," "The Oregon Trail®," "Mavis Beacon Teaches Typing®," "Reader Rabbit®," and "Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego?®" games. OverDrive will demonstrate how libraries can lend Riverdeep titles via download to their patrons in Booth #617 at the American Library Association Annual Conference in Washington D.C. from June 23 - 26, 2007.

Riverdeep, the parent company of software creators The Learning Company® and Broderbund®, provides a rich collection of award-winning educational games and software. This is the first time the company's software will be available for online download through libraries. As with other download media from OverDrive, the Riverdeep titles will be available for checkout and download on patrons' home PCs or laptops and are automatically returned when the checkout period is over. More than 5,000 libraries already offer OverDrive download audio books, eBooks, music and video, which are delivered in the same platform as the games.
