Brompton Tracker Fund Announces Its Intention To Make A Normal Course Issuer Bid

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(CCNMatthews - Aug. 3, 2005) - In accordance with the terms of its initial public offering, Brompton Tracker Fund (TSX:BTF.UN)(the "Fund") intends to make a normal course issuer bid through the facilities of the TSX to purchase up to 4,240,000 units of the Fund (the "Units") representing 10% of the public float of 42,400,000 Units. The same number of units were issued and outstanding as at August 3, 2005.

The Units may be purchased for cancellation commencing on August 8, 2005 and ending on August 7, 2006 through the facilities of the TSX and may only be purchased when the net asset value per Unit exceeds its trading price. Purchases pursuant to the normal course issuer bid would be accretive and therefore enhance returns to continuing unitholders.
