Brookfield Infrastructure Partners L.P. Announces Record Date for Special Meeting of Unitholders

HAMILTON, BERMUDA--(Marketwire - September 3, 2010) - Brookfield Infrastructure Partners L.P. (the "Partnership" and together with its affiliated entities, "Brookfield Infrastructure") (NYSE: BIP) (TSX: BIP.UN) today announced that it has set September 17, 2010 as the record date for determining unitholders entitled to receive notice and to vote at a special meeting of unitholders that is expected to take place on or about November 4, 2010 in New York City, New York.

As previously announced, the Partnership and Prime Infrastructure ("Prime") entered into a definitive merger agreement to create a leading global infrastructure company, in a transaction with an implied market value of AUD$1.6 billion (US$1.4 billion) for Prime.

At the meeting, unitholders will be asked to consider and, if thought fit, approve the issuance of units of Brookfield Infrastructure in connection with its previously announced proposed merger with Prime Infrastructure.

An information circular in connection with the meeting is expected to be mailed to unitholders in October.

Brookfield Infrastructure Partners L.P. owns and operates high quality, long-life assets that generate stable cash flows, require relatively minimal maintenance capital expenditures and, by virtue of barriers to entry and other characteristics, tend to appreciate in value over time.
