with Ovations, a business unit of UnitedHealth Group, to provide consumers
with information about the new Medicare Prescription Drug Benefit Program
(Part D).
Brooks Eckerd Pharmacy is partnering with Ovations in a number of areas

phone service staffed with experts trained to meet the needs of Medicare
beneficiaries as well as the local Outreach programs.
"Consumer education will be critical to the success of the new Medicare
prescription drug benefit," said Michel Coutu, President and Chief Executive
Officer of PJC USA. "In addition to Outreach, we will be hosting Medicare days
in our stores for seniors and caregivers to get the most up to date plan and
enrollment information. We take patient education very seriously and have put
together a very comprehensive program to assist in this process."
"Community pharmacists play a vital role in helping Medicare
beneficiaries understand their drug coverage options," explained Michele
Vilaret, Director of Governmental Programs for Brooks Eckerd Pharmacy. "We
want to reach people in our communities and help them to understand how the
new Medicare Prescription Drug Benefit can provide savings on drug costs. We
are pleased to be working with organizations that share this commitment and
will be involved in our outreach activities. By partnering with leading
organizations such as Ovations, we can strengthen our local Outreach efforts.
We expect other organizations will support this important effort as we
continue to build partnerships that will help make information available to
consumers."
