Brookstreet's 7th Annual Lumiere Gala to Support Sens Foundation and Pledge to Project S.T.E.P.

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - March 26, 2009) - The Sens Foundation announced today that funds raised at the seventh annual Lumiere Gala, to be held at Brookstreet Hotel on Wednesday, June 24, will support the foundation's commitment to Ottawa residential youth treatment centres and school-based education and prevention programs, through a fundraising campaign entitled Project S.T.E.P.

"I am already counting the days to June 24", said Terry Matthews, chairman of the Brookstreet Hotel. "A spectacular outdoor party for a good cause - that's an unmatched combination and certainly my highlight of the year."

Referred to as "Ottawa's best summer party," the Lumiere Gala began as the grand opening event for Brookstreet Hotel in June 2003. The inaugural event's success prompted Matthews to make the Lumiere an annual affair in support of local charitable organizations.

The 2009 gala will highlight Clifford Lyness, executive chef of the award-winning, four-diamond Perspectives Restaurant at the Brookstreet Hotel. Chef Lyness and his culinary team will be presenting a myriad of stations where wines are matched to local-flavour food choices, highlighting top-quality ingredients from the National Capital Region. Guests can expect top-notch service, musical entertainment, exciting live and silent auctions, and a spectacular fireworks display to end the evening.

"The Sens Foundation is thrilled to have been chosen as the recipient of proceeds from this year's Lumiere Gala", said Sens Foundation president Danielle Robinson. "Not only will guests receive an exemplary evening of fine dining and entertainment in a first-class facility, but they will also be contributing to a great cause - the health and well-being of our youth."

"Brookstreet is proud of the contributions we have made to our community," said Brookstreet Hotel executive vice-president and general manager Patrice S. Basille. "In its seven-year history, we have distributed more than $170,000 to local charities. This year's event promises to deliver to our guests an evening unlike any other in the city, and at the same time provide support to the Sens Foundation in our combined commitment to our youth."

An early bird price of $125 is available until May 15. Tickets will be be sold for $150 following this date. They can be purchased at the Sens Foundation website (www.sensfoundation.com) or by phone at 613-599-0323. The Brookstreet Hotel is providing a special guestroom rate of $99 for all Lumiere attendees.
