Brownsburg Electronik Inc. Receives Financial Support from Government of Canada to Improve Productivity

LACHUTE, QUEBEC--(Marketwire - March 1, 2012) - The Honourable Denis Lebel, Minister of Transport, Infrastructure and Communities and Minister of the Economic Development Agency of Canada for the Regions of Quebec, announces that Brownsburg Electronik Inc. of Lachute has been granted financial assistance from the Government of Canada to acquire specialized equipment and bolster productivity.

"By lending our financial support to enterprises that, like Brownsburg Electronik, are making the necessary efforts to excel and become more competitive in their sectors, the Government of Canada is helping strengthen their growth," says Minister Lebel.

Brownsburg Electronik specializes in the design and custom manufacture of transformers and inductors that are required to meet particularly complex specifications. The firm's products are intended primarily for manufacturing companies that use electricity in their production processes.

The new state-of-the-art machinery will serve to set up a new production chain for the manufacture of a higher value-added line of products, an initiative that will allow the company to meet the rising demand for energy production and transportation equipment (wind turbines, high-voltage distributors). This acquisition, along with the purchase of handling equipment, will enable Brownsburg Electronik to increase its production capacity while improving productivity at its facility.

This financial assistance, granted in the form of a $300,000 repayable contribution, has been awarded through Canada Economic Development's Business and Regional Growth program.
