Bryant & Stratton College Online Launches New Online Bachelor of Science Degree in Health Services Administration

Rapidly Growing Industry Will Create 3.2 Million Jobs Through 2018

BUFFALO, NY--(Marketwire - May 17, 2010) -  To answer the growing demand for an educated workforce in the healthcare industry, Bryant & Stratton College Online announced today that it is now offering a new online Bachelor of Science Degree in Health Services Administration. The degree will prepare graduates for entry-level assistant management positions in hospitals, nursing homes and doctors' offices. The Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) estimates that the healthcare industry will add 3.2 million jobs through 2018, which makes a healthcare-related degree especially valuable in today's economic environment. Bryant & Stratton College, a pioneer in career education since 1854 and the premier provider of online associate's degrees, also offers six other healthcare-specific online programs.

"A degree in healthcare is a smart investment for anyone interested in taking advantage of the career opportunities being created by the rapid growth in the healthcare industry," said Scott Traylor, Director of Admissions for Online Education at Bryant & Stratton College. "From the aging baby boomer generation to the recent reforms that will expand access to healthcare, demand will continue to increase for people with skills and training relevant to this field."

In addition to the new bachelor's degree, Bryant & Stratton College Online also offers four online certificate programs and two online associate's degree programs related to healthcare careers. Graduates of these online associate's degree programs can transfer up to 90 percent of credits earned toward the Bachelor of Science Degree in Health Services Administration. Course credits from the Medical Assisting and Nursing campus-based programs may also be transferred into the new online bachelor's degree.

"By transferring their credits, students that have either started or completed one of our healthcare-related online associate's degree programs can get a head start on the new Bachelor of Science Degree in Health Services Administration," continued Traylor.
