BT Infonet Achieves Five `Best in Class' Ratings in Customer Service in Latest Telemark IP Report; Named the Industry's Overall `Best in Class' Based on Stated Results

EL SEGUNDO, Calif.--(CCNMatthews - Aug 16, 2005) -

BT Infonet, a leading provider of global communications services for multinationals, has achieved five "Best in Class" ratings for superior customer service in the 13th edition of Telemark Consulting's benchmarking report on International Business IP Services, published on August 15, 2005.

In this latest report, Telemark surveyed more than 275 multinationals using international IP services -- with an aim to benchmark customer service in 32 different categories. Based on the results, BT Infonet was named the industry's best in international network installations, IP data security, problem notification capabilities, transparent billing and for its ability to sustain successful long-term customer relationships.

In addition, BT Infonet was named the industry's overall "Best in Class" based on the stated results of the report. Telemark's stated results, led by BT Infonet, measure how satisfied multinationals are with their IP service provider overall.

"BT Infonet is consistently perceived as one of the industry's top IP service providers," commented Dr. Kerry Tomlinson, managing author of Telemark's IP services benchmarking report. "Once again, BT Infonet exceeded the industry benchmark for all of the top ten attributes that multinationals named as most important -- showing dedication and execution in customer service in those areas that matter most to customers."

"Telemark's latest report is another validation of our attention to providing advanced IP services to clients with a particular focus on an outstanding customer experience," said Jean-Noel Moneton, BT Infonet's vice president of network services. "We're particularly proud of our excellent rating in network reliability and our `Best in Class' rating in IP VPN security - two hot button issues for global enterprises."

In the same report BT Global Services was awarded a "Telemark Gold Award" in Secure Data Transfer and "Best in Class" honors in nine categories - Network Reliability, Value for Money, Ability to Meet Customers' Requirements, Fault Reporting Process, Installation Guarantees, Support in Local Language, Reaching Difficult Locations, Bills in Currency of Choice and New Product and Service Information. In total, BT Infonet and BT Global Services were found to be the industry's "Best in Class" in 14 of the report's 32 measurements of customer service.
