BT Infonet's Application Centric VPN Service Honored With Frost & Sullivan's IP Communications Product of the Year Award

EL SEGUNDO, Calif.--(CCNMatthews - Nov 9, 2005) -

BT Infonet, a leading provider of managed network communications services for multinational entities, today announced its next generation MPLS virtual private network service, Application Centric VPN (AC VPN), has been honored with Frost & Sullivan's 2005 IP Communications Product of the Year Award. The award was presented to BT Infonet last night at Frost & Sullivan's Excellence in ICT Awards Banquet in London.

Every year, Frost & Sullivan presents this award to a company that has developed and introduced an innovative technology that offers significant contributions to the ICT industry. The award also recognizes BT Infonet's overall technical excellence and its commitment toward communications technology innovation.

AC VPN was developed by BT Infonet to act as a distributed intelligent system that adapts to the overall bandwidth, performance and application performance targets defined by multinational corporations to achieve their operational business requirements. AC VPN allows for the dynamic optimization of applications at each site, based not only on local conditions, but also on the conditions of the entire global network -- an important capability for multinationals with sophisticated networking requirements.

"As part of its ongoing technological innovation, BT Infonet has developed a superior VPN solution that incorporates application management and offers dynamic allocation of resources to support business objectives," said Frost & Sullivan Industry Analyst, ICT Europe, Fernando Elizalde. "Frost & Sullivan is proud to recognize BT Infonet with the IP Communications - 2005 Product of the Year Award for AC VPN and the advancements in communications technology the company has commercialized."

"Several of our clients are already seeing less interruption of business processes, faster time to determine and correct performance issues and more productive use of their IT resources using AC VPN," said Jean-Noel Moneton, vice president of Network Services Marketing for BT Infonet. "Positive third-party validation such as this award confirms AC VPN's value proposition. We're thrilled that Frost & Sullivan has recognized our more than 25 year history of innovation in VPN services."
