BTI Systems Enters 2014 With Strong Global Momentum

President and CEO Steve Waszak to Highlight Carrier and Content Provider Opportunities Fueled by Cloud Computing, Virtualization, Mobility and Video at Stifel Technology, Internet & Media Conference

OTTAWA, ON and BOSTON, MA--(Marketwired - Feb 4, 2014) - BTI Systems, the software and networking leader empowering content and service providers to capitalize on trends in cloud services, mobility and Internet video, today announced that Steve Waszak, the company's president and chief executive officer, will participate in the Stifel Technology, Internet & Media Conference.

Slated for February 10-12 at The Fairmont Hotel in San Francisco, the conference is in its 12th year and showcases the industry's top publicly traded and privately held companies. Waszak will present on Monday, February 10 at 10:55 a.m. PT.

During his remarks, Waszak will discuss the business and technology shifts underway that are driving global demand for new software and open converged network infrastructure platforms that enable content, colocation and service providers to economically deliver new cloud services more rapidly to an ever-expanding community of consumers, partners and businesses.

BTI's category-defining intelligent network infrastructure solutions lead the industry in density, scale, performance, economics and service innovation. Deployed in most major cloud data center hubs around the world, BTI's 380+ customers include recently announced cloud companies Equinix, VKontakte and Digital Realty Trust (through a partnership with Epsilon).

Underscoring its tremendous growth and momentum BTI:

  • Announced $37 million in growth equity in 2013, and a total of $60 million since 2011, from investors that include Bain Capital Ventures, BDC, Covington Capital, GrowthWorks and other strategic investors.
  • Achieved compound annual revenue growth of 33% between 2007 and 2013 -- with more than 40% of revenues coming from top-tier content providers, cloud infrastructure providers and service providers, and highlighted by 2X revenue growth in the Asia-Pacific area.
  • More than doubled revenues from its cloud services customers from 2012 to 2013.
  • Extended its leadership team with internationally respected executives and board members. Additions include board member Tod Nielsen, former VMware and Pivotal executive currently serving as CEO for Heroku as well as industry veterans Ken Taylor as chief financial officer and Tom Nolette as senior vice president of global operations.
  • Marked an industry first with the announcement of its 10/100G Intelligent Cloud Connect, an open, SDN-enabled platform converging the best of optical, routing and Network Functions Virtualization (NFV) applications for cloud networking deployments that delivers content and service providers 4 times the capacity, half the latency and up to 10 times the performance, with 50% OPEX and CAPEX savings.
  • Ramped deployment of its industry-leading 10/100G metro/regional networking solutions allowing service providers to build advanced high-bandwidth networks for delivering Ethernet business and wavelength services.
  • 76% growth in global services and support revenue fueled by the quality of BTI's technical support team and breadth of service and support offerings.

"BTI Systems identified early the network pressures brought about by the shift to public and hybrid cloud computing," Waszak said. "We moved aggressively to deliver a new category of open, programmable networking platforms that carriers and content providers would need to deploy services rapidly, reliably and cost effectively, while meeting their customers' performance expectations."

"By combining our vision with solid execution in technology development, customer deployments and service and support, BTI Systems has earned the trust of some of the fastest-growing and most influential companies in the world," Waszak continued. "We're committed to building upon our leadership position in 2014 and beyond."
