BTI Systems to Present at Layer123 SDN & OpenFlow World Congress 2015

Company to Demonstrate Multi-Vendor SDN-Enabled Bandwidth-on-Demand for Inter-Data Center Network Applications

OTTAWA, ON and BOSTON, MA--(Marketwired - Sep 28, 2015) - BTI Systems, a market-leading provider of cloud and metro networking software and systems to content and service providers around the world, today announced the company's participation at the Layer123 SDN & OpenFlow World Congress to be held October 12-16 in Düsseldorf, Germany. Hosted by Layer123 and the Open Networking Foundation (ONF), SDN & OpenFlow World Congress is the industry's leading debate forum and showcase aimed to advance the carrier vision for software-defined networking (SDN) and network functions virtualization (NFV).

During the event, BTI Director of Product Architecture Peter Landon will present "Bringing the Data Center into the Central Office" on Thursday, October 15 at 2:45pm CEST. Additionally, BTI will be featured in a live demonstration as part of the SDN Showcase in the Centre of Excellence in Next Generation Networks (CENGN) booth. BTI will also be exhibiting in Booth #14.

Underscoring key global industry trends, Landon will discuss the transformation occurring at the service provider network edge and the scale, performance and economic benefits of leveraging cloud virtualization methodologies where they are most effective. In that context, he will explore the business drivers forcing service providers to examine how they architect their networks for future services delivery.

In the CENGN booth, BTI and several vendors will demonstrate "Multi-Site Multi-Domain Data Center Capacity Management" -- showcasing an SDN application based on OpenDaylight (ODL) that automatically provisions bandwidth between data centers to accommodate applications such as workload migration. The demonstration highlights the ability of a network under SDN control to respond dynamically to elephant flows, based on an application trigger. CENGN will provision Layer 1 channels on the BTI 7800 Series Intelligent Cloud Connect Platform and flows on the Corsa Technology DP6410 routers. A live link in the CANARIE network between Ottawa and Montreal will also be featured.
