Buccaneer Gold Announces Appointment of Director and Chief Financial Officer

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - Dec. 22, 2015) - Buccaneer Gold Corp. (TSX VENTURE:BGG) (the "Company") is pleased to announce that Dr. Guy Joseph Della Valle has been appointed as a director and Cindy Davis has been appointed as Chief Financial Officer, of the Company, in each case, effective December 21, 2015.

Dr. Guy Joseph Della Valle, Ph.D., M.Sc., P.Geo, is a consulting geologist. He formerly served as the Company's Vice-President, Exploration of Buccaneer Gold from September 2011 to May 2013. In this role, Dr. Della Valle was responsible for overseeing the Company's exploration operations at its Banso and Muoso Projects located in the Kibi Gold Belt in Ghana, West Africa. Dr. Della Valle is a senior exploration geologist with more than 30 years of experience in all phases of mineral exploration from green field to pre-feasibility study, including underground mining experience. He also has experience with property evaluation, due diligence, project generation for base metals, precious metals, rare earths and diamonds. Dr. Della Valle received his M.Sc. in Geology in 1973 and his Ph.D. in 1988 from the University of Lausanne, Switzerland.

Mrs. Cindy Davis, CPA, CA, is a Senior Financial Analyst at Marrelli Support Services Inc., and provides accounting, regulatory compliance, and management advisory services to numerous issuers on the TSX, TSX Venture Exchange and other Canadian and US exchanges. Previously, Mrs. Davis worked at a public accounting firm focused on small and medium businesses for five years. Mrs. Davis holds a Bachelor of Science degree specializing in Accounting and Economics.
