Buckhead Business RadioX Spotlights the U.S. Small Business Administration

The U.S. Small Business Administration and Visionary Construction Inc. Are Interviewed by Rich Casanova on Buckhead Business Radio

ATLANTA, GA--(Marketwired - July 01, 2014) - Buckhead Business Radio host Rich Casanova welcomed into the studio three representatives from the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA), as well as SBA member Visionary Construction Inc. The four guests gathered to discuss their roles with the SBA and how it has impacted business growth in Atlanta.

The SBA was created in 1953 as an independent agency of the federal government to aid, counsel, assist and protect the interests of small business concerns, to preserve free competitive enterprise and to maintain and strengthen the overall economy of our nation.

"The SBA has many tools to help small businesses, such as access to capital, contracting, importing and exporting, counseling and training, small businesses development programs, university connections and mentoring from volunteer CEOs," explained Eugene Cornelius, the SBA's Deputy Associate Administrator for Field Operations.

Mr. Cornelius is responsible for management and oversight of over 90 offices covering all 50 States, Puerto Rico, U.S. Virgin Islands, Guam and U.S. Territories. Both Terri Denison and Mark Gibson joined the discussion representing SBA Georgia. Denison is the District Director responsible for overseeing the implementation and operation of the SBA's financial, counseling/training and procurement/business development programs in Georgia; Gibson is the Public Affairs Officer for the SBA Georgia District office.

Tasha Reid, Founder of Visionary Management Services, offered insight into her company and the role that the SBA has played. Her firm, also referred to as Visionary Construction, offers facilities support including services such as construction, janitorial service, landscaping and facility maintenance. Reid applied to the SBA, and after being accepted into the organization she has expanded her network and has taken part of the mentoring program.
