Legendary YouTube Stars to Appear at This Year's Festival Including Olan Rogers, Matthew Santoro and sWooZie

TORONTO, ON--(Marketwired - July 19, 2016) - Fans get ready: the most notable YouTube celebrities are coming back to Toronto. Buffer Festival 2016, the premier international film festival for the world's most acclaimed YouTube creators, is set to return to the city October 20th to 23rd at multiple venues across Toronto. Created by Canadian YouTube entrepreneurs Corey Vidal and Corrado Coia, the festival will feature more than 300 of the most accomplished YouTubers. These include professional storyteller and gamer Adande Thorne (sWooZie) who has amassed more than four million subscribers to his YouTube channel, beauty vlogger Estée Lalonde, filmmaker Olan Rogers and Canadian infotainment master Matthew Santoro.

More than 5,000 people are expected to attend the festival, now entering its fourth year. Tickets go on sale today at noon at bufferfestival.com, with festival lanyards available for $50.00 which include full weekend access to festival grounds, exhibits, educational workshops and content, one concert, one premium screening, and more.

According to Vidal, Creative Director of Buffer Festival, the growth of the festival is resulting in an increase in the quality of video submissions and presentations. "What I'm really excited about for Buffer Festival this year is that we're not just becoming bigger, but we're also getting better."

Vidal continued, "As we grow, we're able to increase the quality of the festival. Last year, we had over 200 video premieres from creators and we're expecting to see even more this year. The calibre of creativity in the content being premiered at the festival is simply incomparable."

By debuting the best new online content YouTube has to offer, Buffer Festival has truly distinguished itself as the world's leading digital film festival. Screenings this year will be held across the city at St. Lawrence Centre for the Arts and the Metro Toronto Convention Centre. The largest event of the weekend's festivities will be the much anticipated red carpet gala featuring all the attending YouTubers on Friday, October 21st.

New this year, every featured YouTuber will take part in an exclusive red carpet following each screening, increasing the opportunities for fans to meet their favourite creators. There will also be afterparties on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, offering a more relaxed and intimate opportunity for creators and fans to meet, engage and connect.
