Building Momentum for Healthy Living in San Antonio on March 29th

SAN ANTONIO, TX--(Marketwire - March 11, 2008) - The non-profit Momentum for Wellness group based in San Antonio will be hosting its first Wellness for Living event in the Kohl's at Bandera Pointe parking lot at 1604 and Bandera from noon to 3:30pm on March 29th. It is free of charge and open to the public. Moon bounces and other games will be provided for kids, free ID kits to help protect children from kidnapping will be handed out to the first 500 parents, and booths will be set up to provide the community information and knowledge in the areas of financial, environmental, physical and mental wellness. Other items of interest include a martial arts exhibition presented by Victory Martial Arts as well as a visit from Rowdy and the UTSA Dance Team.

"Exhibitors at this event provide resources and information in a fun atmosphere to help people with their Physical, Environmental, Mental, and Financial health," says Chris Day, President of the organization. "With the Momentum for Living program, we provide free fun for the kids with education and information for the adults. We want everyone to come for a couple of hours on Saturday, the 29th, and enjoy themselves but also focus on improving quality of life."

The Momentum for Wellness effort was launched to help individuals realize it isn't impossible to feel great, dig out of debt, be environmentally smart, and physically fit. It communicates this message via online programs, educational talks, community events, and a soon to be launched corporate outreach initiative.

"Ultimately, we know we can't change a person's situation overnight, but we can help to provide that impetus and knowledge base that leads to change. There isn't a single person in this city or in this nation that can't benefit from support in one of our four main quadrants of health. San Antonio needs to work towards being one of the nation's fittest in every way," says Day.

Participants in the event include KOHL's, Spectrum Health Clubs, Jump and Party Events, Victory Martial Arts, Zeitgeist Wellness, The Integrated Wellness Center, Bungalow Day Spa, LAT-TV, On The Edge Promotions, UTSA, Texas Organ Share Alliance, Southwest Mental Health Center, and Zenergy Wellness. A portion of the profits will be donated to JOVEN San Antonio.
