Building Turbines, Inc. Wind Turbine Presentations Delivered April 20th by University of Texas at Austin Mechanical Engineering Design Program

AUSTIN, TX--(Marketwire - Apr 24, 2012) - Building Turbines, Inc. (PINKSHEETS: BLDW)

Two separate teams of four Senior Engineering Students at UT Austin are collaborating with the Austin Green Energy Group on two different R&D Projects for Building Turbines, Inc. The first team is continuing the turbine evaluation and data acquisition project started last fall by AGEG and UT, along with making recommendations for improved design efficiencies and energy output optimizations. The second team will generate a critique of wind turbine mechanics and evaluate the viability of creating an Omni Directional Turbines made from BT's patented sail material design as well as the Structural Analysis and further enhancements to existing wind turbines.

Building Turbines, Inc. (PINKSHEETS: BLDW), a designer and manufacturer of commercial rooftop wind turbine systems and other renewable energy technologies, announced today it that The University of Texas at Austin Mechanical Engineering Design Project (MEDP) program has completed the presentation portion of their semester long projects.

The MEDP program, which embraces a public-private partnership between the university and commercial enterprise, provides mechanical engineering students with hands-on, practical applications experience while the sponsoring company enjoys the benefit of having a team of engineering seniors evaluating every aspect of the company's product design, components, specifications, operability, cost structure and overall commercial potential.

John Graham, CEO of Building Turbines, states, "The Austin Green Energy Group (AGEG) is providing technical oversight on the MEDP programs serving as student mentors and providing additional R&D engineering expertise. As a local non-profit, AGEG's mission includes promoting education and solutions for efficient energy utilization. This is our third project with AGEG and UT, we realize we will constantly be redefining our products to increase efficiency and reduce costs. We continue to strive towards our goal of providing the complete green energy solution for rooftops."

"We're delighted to partner with The University of Texas on these projects for BT," said Bernie Johnson, President of the AGEG. "We continue to welcome student recommendations for improving the design and mechanical integrity of Building Turbines rooftop wind turbines, which ultimately will improve their efficiency and make their systems more attractive from a return on investment perspective. Chris Stanford, AGEG's CTO, Derek Bridges, an AGEG electrical engineer, and other AGEG members are continuing refining the data acquisition as well as work on other R&D Projects for BT."
