Bulldog Reporter's Business Media and Lifestyle Media Newsletters Are Now Integrated Into Media Pro Online Directory Service

OAKLAND, CA--(Marketwire - August 19, 2009) - Bulldog Reporter announced today that its venerable media relations newsletters Bulldog Reporter's Business Media and Bulldog Reporter's Lifestyle Media, would be folded into a new service, Media Pro. The Bulldog Reporter newsletters were founded in 1979 and enjoyed decades of success as the PR industry's only publications reporting on how journalists want to work with PR professionals.

As of Monday, August 17, the publications will become part of Bulldog Reporter's Media Pro service, which includes a twice-weekly e-newsletter and an online media directory and press release distribution tool. The Media Pro e-newsletter, called Pitching Alerts, delivers Media Moves -- journalist job and beat changes -- as well as some 20 mini-interviews with prominent journalists on how they want PR professionals to pitch them. Subscribers to the service can use the online directory to research journalists, create customized press lists, and deliver press releases to targeted journalists.

Like Bulldog Reporter's newsletters, Media Pro covers the most influential media in the U.S. It offers a database covering more than 80,000 journalists at about 12,000 media outlets and contains some 26,000 detailed Pitching Tips on how and when journalists want to be pitched stories by PR professionals.

"Corporate communications and PR professionals have been telling us for years that they want to be able to create media lists using the intelligence they receive in their Bulldog Reporter newsletters," observed Bulldog Reporter publisher Jim Sinkinson. "Our new Media Pro service provides both the news and current pitching intelligence associated with the newsletters, combined with a constantly updated database from which PR pros can make highly targeted lists."

Bulldog Reporter newsletters had undergone many improvements over the years, responding to changing media realities and information technologies, especially the Internet. The twice-monthly newsletters added thrice-weekly online versions and a searchable website in 2002. Responding to readers' faster work pace and shorter attention spans, in 2006 they dramatically increased the number of journalists covered in each issue and decreased the length of interviews.

"While we're a bit nostalgic about retiring the Bulldog Reporter newsletters, our clients' practices are changing rapidly. We have to be as intrepid in improving our information delivery as we are in tracking and interviewing top journalists," said Sinkinson.

Annual subscriptions to Bulldog Reporter's Media Pro are $1,695. For a one-week free trial subscription, phone 1-866-666-1198 or go to www.bulldogreporter.com.
