Bumbershoot®: Seattle's Music & Arts Festival Announces Samsung Mobile as Presenting Sponsor

Seattle Center, August 30 - September 1

SEATTLE, WA--(Marketwire - June 10, 2008) - One Reel, the not for profit producer of Bumbershoot, has secured a 2-year commitment from Samsung Mobile (Samsung), elevating them to Presenting Sponsor of the 2008 Festival.

The 38th Annual Bumbershoot: Seattle's Music & Arts Festival, Presented by Samsung Mobile will take place over Labor Day weekend, August 30 - September 1. The 3-day urban event stretches across the 74-acre Seattle Center, located beneath the city's iconic Space Needle, and features a diverse program at 20 indoor and unique outdoor venues including live music, comedy, theatre, dance, film, urban crafts, and literary and visual arts.

Samsung's collaboration with Bumbershoot began at a supporting level, expanding to the Mainstage Sponsor in 2007. The newly heightened level of sponsorship (active through 2009) will continue to include sponsorship of the Mainstage, while expanding upon the brand's over-all presence at the Festival.

"Samsung Mobile is excited to extend its involvement with one of the largest music and arts festivals in the country," said Paul Chapple, Vice President for Samsung Mobile. "Bumbershoot is so uniquely Seattle -- eclectic, entertaining, and unifying -- it's really a pleasure to associate our latest devices with an event that is truly one of the highpoints of the summer."

Samsung will activate its sponsorship through a variety of retail and online promotions, as well as entertaining its employees and customers at the event. Samsung will host onsite booths to provide festival goers with the latest Samsung mobile phones.

"Samsung has been a valued sponsor of Bumbershoot, contributing to the success of the Festival," states Bumbershoot Executive Director, Michele Scoleri. "Their new and elevated level of support allows the Festival to continue providing a diverse spectrum of music and arts programming at a ticket price far below others in the country."

The 2008 Samsung Mobile Mainstage will include performances by Beck, Stone Temple Pilots, T.I., Keyshia Cole, Lucinda Williams, Neko Case, Paramore, Band of Horses, The Black Keys and more. Complete Festival details are located at
