SEATTLE, WA--(Marketwire - July 14, 2008) - The 38th annual Bumbershoot: Seattle's Music & Arts Festival, Presented by Samsung Mobile announces the full 2008 lineup and a complete interactive schedule available at bumbershoot.org/lineup.htm. The 3-day urban event takes place Labor Day Weekend (August 30 - September 1). The Festival stretches across the 74-acre Seattle Center, located beneath the city's iconic Space Needle, and programs 20 indoor and unique outdoor venues. This progressive Festival features a diverse array of arts including live music, comedy, theatre, dance, film, urban crafts, literary arts and visual arts. COMEDY

Bumbershoot's popular comedy programming includes two stages of national comedic talent in the Charlotte Martin and Intiman Theatres, as well as regional comedy at The Vera Project.

The Comedy Stage North, presented by Seattle Center (located in the Intiman Theatre) is packed with stand-up from Zach Galifianakis, Michelle Buteau, Greg Behrendt, Tig Notaro, Doug Benson, Karen Kilgariff, Hannibal Burress, Jessi Klein, TJ Miller, and Nick Thune.

The Comedy Stage South, presented by Seattle Center (located in the Charlotte Martin Theatre) will feature a variety of live national acts. The 3-day program will include a live edition of the popular NPR show "The Sound of Young America"; MySpace Show will improvise the personal details of audience members' internet profiles (hosted by comedic talents Owen Burke, Chad Carter, Rob Huebel, Seth Morris, and Paul Scheer); Satiristas Janeane Garofalo, Marc Maron, Tom Rhodes and Rep. Richard (Dick) Martin will team up to target political hypocrisy and media distortion; and "Human Giant" members Paul Scheer, Rob Huebel and Aziz Ansari will create their MTV show on stage with the help of their friends.

The Comedy Stage West, presented by Seattle Center (located in The Vera Project) will host the best in Pacific Northwest comedy co-curated with Seattle's own People's Republic of Komedy. Programs include It's Good to Know People (Vancouver); Blood Squad: Slasher Film Improv (Seattle); Bridgetown Showcase, featuring Portland's top comedians; Best of The Comedy Underground and much more.

New in 2008: Due to the high demand for comedic offerings at the Festival and the intimate venues in which the shows are staged, all comedy programs now offer a free pass onsite guaranteeing admission, available on a first-come, first-served basis. Three-day Festival passes are available NOW at bumbershoot.org for $80 through Friday, August 15 and $100 thereafter. Single day-specific tickets will be available to the public Tuesday, July 15 at bumbershoot.org, Ticketmaster outlets, or by calling 206.628.0888, and beginning Saturday, August 2 at Western Washington Starbucks stores. Single day-specific tickets are $35 through August 15, and $40 thereafter. There are no service fees for tickets purchased at Starbucks.
