Burmis Announces Drilling and Testing Results at Brazeau

CALGARY, ALBERTA--(CCNMatthews - Nov. 6, 2006) - Burmis Energy Inc. ("Burmis") (TSX:BME) is pleased to announce the successful testing of two additional Nisku discoveries in the Brazeau area.

The Burmis Brazeau 1-26-46-13W5 well (66 percent working interest before payout, 42.9 percent working interest after payout), penetrated 16.0 metres of Nisku formation before experiencing a severe lost circulation zone. After losing over 5,000 barrels of mud and loss circulation material, the Company decided to run casing with an external casing packer and complete the well open hole. A lengthy clean up period was conducted during which the well flowed significant amounts of loss circulation material, drilling fluids, natural gas (up to 4.2 million cubic feet per day) and water. Following the clean up, a single point 24 hour flow test was conducted. During this test, the well flowed at restricted average rates of 3.0 million cubic feet per day of raw gas, 54 barrels per day of condensate, and 1,092 barrels per day of water at wellhead flowing pressures which increased from 2,030 psig to 2,293 psig during the test. The well is currently shut in for pressure build up and the Company is evaluating tie-in options for this well.

The well at 05-14-48-11 W5M well (25 percent working interest before payout, 15 percent working interest after payout) encountered a porous Nisku reef containing approximately six metres of hydrocarbon column. The well was recently completed and flow tested for one and a half hours at rates up to 1.5 million cubic feet per day of natural gas and 150 barrels per day of condensate. The operator is planning to tie the well in based on this limited flow and pressure data and further test the well inline.

These two wells are in addition to the previously announced well at 14-8-45-13W5 (50 percent working interest before payout, 35 percent working interest after payout) which flowed at restricted rates of 3.3 million cubic feet per day of natural gas and 85 barrels per day of condensate with a flowing wellhead pressure of approximately 3,800 psig.
