Burns & McDonnell Expands in New Jersey With Lease for New Office Space in Morristown

WALLINGFORD, CT--(Marketwired - Nov 24, 2015) - Burns & McDonnell is expanding its presence in New Jersey with a lease of newly renovated office space in Morristown, NJ. At the end of October, 45 employee owners moved into third-floor offices in a historic 5-story building located at 10 North Park Place. The employee count in Morristown is expected to double to approximately 90 in the next two years.

The employee-owners are relocating from an existing office in East Hanover, NJ, which will remain open. With the new office on the Morristown Green, Burns & McDonnell will have expanded capacity to serve clients in New Jersey and New York.

Bill Brown, senior director, brokerage, with Cushman & Wakefield and John DeHardt, of Kessinger/Hunter & Company, facilitated the Morristown office transaction.

Burns & McDonnell will offer its full portfolio of engineering, construction, architectural and environmental consulting services from the Morristown office. Burns & McDonnell serves a number of large aviation, military, energy, higher education, industrial and government clients throughout the Northeast.

"We're very excited to be moving to the historic Morristown Green because of its vibrant atmosphere and easy access to the New York metro," said Martin Durney, aviation and federal practice leader and office manager. "We've long had an established presence with multiple offices in New Jersey and we're now in an even better position to serve our clients and grow as we expand our service offerings."

A surge in work for major air carriers in all of the large airports in New York, New Jersey and Philadelphia has been driving rapid growth of the New Jersey offices. Projects ranging from aircraft hangar facilities to multi-phase, multi-billion-dollar terminal replacement programs are among the largest projects now being executed. Projects for military and federal facilities continue to be strong in New Jersey, though capital investment programs among major air carriers are now driving significant workload.

"We now have nearly 100 employee owners working in New Jersey at our new office and at project sites throughout the state," said J. Brett Williams, president of the Burns & McDonnell Northeast Region. "That's a direct reflection of the confidence and trust our clients have placed in us and it wouldn't surprise me if we had to expand our office in Morristown again very soon."
