Burrell College of Osteopathic Medicine Selects Three Rivers Systems' CAMS Enterprise as Its Higher Education ERP System

ST. LOUIS, MO--(Marketwired - May 26, 2015) - Burrell College of Osteopathic Medicine (BCOM), one of the newest medical colleges in the United States, has selected Three Rivers Systems' CAMS Enterprise as its new enterprise resource planning (ERP) software. Located on the campus of New Mexico State University (NMSU) in Las Cruces, New Mexico, BCOM will offer undergraduate, graduate, and continuing osteopathic medical education, research and clinical service to the community. While BCOM operates independently of NMSU, it is closely affiliated with the university and its students will have access to all of NMSU's facilities, services, and student life.

As a start-up institution, BCOM was looking for a vendor with a proven track record of getting an ERP system up and running quickly. According to Jennifer Taylor, BCOM's Chief Financial Officer, "We have a goal of admitting our first class in August, 2016, and our provisional accreditation with the Commission on Osteopathic College Accreditation (COCA) will permit us to offer admissions as early as this July, 2015. As a result, we were seeking a solution that could be implemented rapidly so that we could see an immediate return on our investment. As we surveyed the competitive vendor landscape, it quickly became apparent to us that Three Rivers Systems was the only company that could meet our aggressive timelines."

Ms. Taylor noted that BCOM selected CAMS Enterprise for several reasons beyond just its ability to be implemented quickly. "We anticipate that our enrollment will grow rapidly, and CAMS Enterprise will nicely scale alongside us. It is a comprehensive, yet easy-to-use student information system that is tightly integrated with fiscal management and human resources solutions from Microsoft. We were also impressed with Three Rivers Systems' extensive experience with other health sciences institutions."

Amir Tajkarimi, founder and president of Three Rivers Systems, welcomed Burrell College of Osteopathic Medicine to the CAMS Community. "BCOM is a shining example of collaboration between private and public interests -- including New Mexico State University, health care institutions, and civic leaders -- that will positively impact the region. Its establishment will help stem the shortage of doctors in New Mexico and the surrounding region, and provide greater access to health care, especially among New Mexico's underserved, rural populations. It recently poured the foundation for its new 80,000-square-foot facility on the NMSU campus, and that's just the first of many anticipated future accomplishments for this innovative institution. We're proud to be associated with BCOM and look forward to supporting their mission to improve the health of the Southwestern United States and Northern Mexico."

Tajkarimi added that BCOM joins a growing list of health sciences institutions that use CAMS Enterprise as their academic ERP system, including Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, Baylor College of Medicine, Bastyr University, Kettering College of Medical Arts, New York Chiropractic College, and the National University of Health Sciences.
