Business Advisors Put the Keys to Success in the Hands of Entrepreneurs and Business Owners

ProLeaders offers superior executive leadership skills and organizational know-how

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA--(Marketwire - July 31, 2012) - New research shows that, contrary to government statistics, the number of new entrepreneurs and business owners has declined significantly over the last 35 years. According to ProLeaders, an association dedicated to empowering executives, one of the primary reasons for the decline is fear of failure - a problem that can be overcome with the right business advisors.

The new research, a study conducted by New America Foundation's Markets, Enterprise, and Resiliency Initiative, closely examined census data and determined that the crisis in the entrepreneurial sector "may be far worse than government data reveal due to a systematic failure to define carefully what sort of businesses should be counted as truly independent," the New American Foundation announced in a recent press release.

According to the Foundation, new entrepreneurs and business owners dropped 53 percent between 1977 and 2010. The percentage of self-employed Americans has also been declining since 1991 and dropped by more than 20 percent as of 2010.

"This study is brilliant," said Lisa Terrenzi, co-founder and CEO of ProLeaders. "It helps solve the mystery of why, with entrepreneurship and new business owners apparently on the rise according to government statistics, we haven't seen significant change in the unemployment rate. And even the improvement in the unemployment rate is controversial."

Fear of failure and reluctance to take the risks involved in starting a new business are among the chief reasons for the decline, said Ms. Terrenzi.

"When people look into starting a business, they are understandably intimidated by the new business failure rates. Most don't survive long enough to make the work involved worth the effort. And many fail within the first year or two," Ms. Terrenzi explained. "With competent business advisors who understand every element of organizational operation and who can also empower executives and improve their executive leadership skills, there is no reason to fail."

The success of ProLeaders' clients speaks for itself:

"The ProLeaders Staff can take an idea and turn it into a billion dollar company. I have worked with them for over 15 years. It was clear from those early days that they had the vision, conviction, confidence to create a successful company and moved products forward quickly while at the same time getting everyone behind the strategy! ProLeaders really cares and believes in what they are doing. They actually listen to people while really doing their due diligence as well. In the end, they always make the right decision and drive it home without looking back! I know ProLeaders didn't write The Art of War, but it's clear they know that classic book of strategy very well. Bottom-line, ProLeaders has all the skills to start a company, run a company and take one to the top." - MZ

"The New American Foundation study could be considered discouraging, but it actually opens the door to resolving the country's economic problems," said Ms. Terrenzi. "Not only does the economy depend on the success of entrepreneurs and new business start-ups, it's the American dream. Whether you're just starting a business or need help moving forward, and regardless of the barriers you're trying to overcome, our business advisors can help guarantee success."
