Business Interruption Insurance Claims Specialist Joins LECG in New York

Christopher M. Brophy Brings More Than 16 Years' Experience Advising Clients With Respect to Recovering on Complex Property Damage and Business Interruption Insurance Claims; Adds to Depth of Forensic Accounting and Investigation Practice

EMERYVILLE, CA and NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwire - April 23, 2009) - Leading global strategic consulting and expert services firm LECG has added investigations and disputes specialist Christopher M. Brophy as a director to the firm's forensic accounting practice in New York.

Mr. Brophy brings an established insurance claims practice to LECG, with a focus on business interruption, extra expense, and property damage claims.

He has been involved in a number of high-level assignments. Mr. Brophy's clients recovered billions after the 1993 World Trade Center terrorist attack, the 2001 World Trade Center terrorist attack, several hurricane losses (most recently Katrina, Ike, and Gustav), flood losses, and numerous individual matters. Chris has also advised many non-profit hospitals and universities with respect to recovering under FEMA claims. He has experience with fraud investigations and fidelity claims. He assisted two international insurance brokers with New York attorney general investigations.

Mr. Brophy's clients work in manufacturing, healthcare, hospitality, retail, transportation, agribusiness, energy, chemicals, and financial services. He also has worked with a number of non-profit organizations.

In addition to his claims, investigation and dispute experience, Mr. Brophy is a certified public accountant with a diverse financial and operations background. He has extensive general management consulting experience including operational and reengineering, bankruptcy and mergers and acquisitions work.

Prior to joining LECG, Mr. Brophy was an executive director of the investigative and dispute services practice of a Big Four accounting firm. Past experience also includes positions with two other Big Four accounting firms, a boutique consulting firm specializing in insurance claims that he founded, and controller and general manager of a private company with sales of more than $120 million. He has served as an expert witness for litigation involving business interruption and property damage claims.
