CALGARY, ALBERTA--(Marketwired - Aug. 30, 2013) - The Calgary Food Bank traditionally sees in increase in need during the Fall due to back-to-school expenses and the completion of seasonal employment. This year we anticipate a greater demand for food hampers as a result of the devastating floods only 10 weeks ago that may stress many financially.
September special events and campaigns will ensure that the Calgary Food Bank can support the needs of Calgarians to support individuals and families during these difficult times.

Once again BP and Chevron retirees have come together to grow vegetables for the Calgary Food Bank. Their volunteer efforts see a bounty of 10,000-15,000 pounds of fresh produce that will go directly from the ground to clients and partner agencies.
