buySAFE Opens API, Launches Developers' Network to Extend E-Commerce Trust Solution

New Program Allows Developers to Integrate buySAFE Trust Signaling Into Websites, Marketplaces and Third-Party Applications

ARLINGTON, VA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- October 31, 2006 -- buySAFE, Inc. (www.buysafe.com), the leading online trust and safety company for e-commerce transactions, today announced the launch of the buySAFE Developers' Network (developer.buysafe.com), a program that allows developers to access buySAFE's API (Application Programming Interface) to seamlessly integrate buySAFE trust signaling into retail Websites, marketplaces, and third-party shopping applications. Developers can gain access to the buySAFE API by registering for free membership on the buySAFE Developers' Network site, or by sending an e-mail request to developer@buysafe.com.

With today's announcement, developers who join the buySAFE Developers' Network can now make calls to the buySAFE API to determine if an online merchant or listing is bonded by buySAFE. Developers can then identify buySAFE Merchants on their sites or in their applications by displaying a small buySAFE logo next to the item or merchant. This allows comparison shopping sites, browser plug-ins, desktop widgets and other shopping applications to provide shoppers with additional peace of mind, increasing the likelihood that the shopper will make a purchase.

Major features of the buySAFE Developers' Network include:

-- API documentation to leverage buySAFE in search, browser plug-ins,
    enterprise retail Websites, and marketplaces (like eBay and Overstock.com
    Auctions);
-- a knowledgebase that provides an easy way to create a database of
    questions and answers;
-- a collaboration tool that allows development partners to create Wiki-
    based pages to track implementation progress;
-- discussion forums for developers, and
--  an intuitive bug tracker.

Additionally, buySAFE will soon add code samples and software development kits (SDKs) to make it as easy as possible for developers to incorporate buySAFE trust signaling into their applications.

"Our goal is to make every online transaction reliable, trusted, and virtually risk-free," said Jeff Grass, CEO, buySAFE, Inc. "In more than 9 million transactions to date, we have delivered on that goal by creating a circle of trust among merchants and consumers at the transactional level. By creating the buySAFE Developers' Network and opening our API, we are now able to signal trust to consumers at any point in their buying cycle, thus making the online shopping process easier, faster and safer than ever before. At the same time, buySAFE trust signaling helps drive more clicks and more valuable clicks -- from higher conversion rates on buySAFE bonded transactions -- and helps provide a more reliable and trusted shopping experience for marketplaces, merchant sites, and users of third-party shopping applications."

Auction Trust Network (ATN - www.auctiontrustnetwork.com) is one of the first companies to leverage the buySAFE Developers' Network and API. ATN recently added buySAFE trust signaling into its popular eBay comparison shopping tool, Reconnect™.

"Our shopping tool is most valuable when a shopper has a great customer experience, and we believe that adding the buySAFE signal to Reconnect's search results provides even greater assurance to our customers that the experience will be safe, secure and worry-free," said Steve Jones, CEO, ATN. "The buySAFE Developers' Network proved to be an invaluable resource for our developers during the integration."

The buySAFE Seal is the strongest trust signal in e-commerce. To qualify for a buySAFE Seal, merchants must pass the rigorous buySAFE Business Inspection, which ensures they are trustworthy, reliable and committed to delivering on the terms of the sale. Consumers that make a bonded purchase from a buySAFE Merchant receive a surety bond backed by Travelers®, ACE USA® and Liberty Mutual® that guarantees -- up to $25,000 -- that all terms and conditions of the sale will be met. The buySAFE Seal ensures that online shoppers will have a safe and worry-free shopping experience.
