In these roles, Brown gained extensive experience in creating, negotiating and managing complex legal and business ventures at both domestic and international levels.

Before AOL, Brown worked at MCI Telecommunications Corp. for more than 10 years, first as a managing attorney for an $8 billion division supporting all MCI commercial customers, and then as a senior director for international alliance management. Brown began his career with Shaw Pittman Potts & Trowbridge, a Washington, D.C.-based law firm.

Brown holds a J.D., with honors, from the University of Virginia, completed post-graduate work at the University of Edinburgh, and earned a B.A., with honors, from Harvard University.
