BWI Thurgood Marshall Airport Welcomes FuelRod Mobile Charger Kiosks

BWI Travelers Can Now Charge Their Smartphones On the Go

SAN DIEGO, CA--(Marketwired - Jun 1, 2016) - Tricopian, LLC, a San Diego, California-based developer of the innovative FuelRod mobile charging service for smartphones and tablets, announces that its FuelRod® "SwapBox™" kiosks are now deployed at Baltimore-Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport (BWI). As one of the fastest-growing airports in the U.S., passengers will appreciate the power on the go service provided by the FuelRod kiosks, or "Swapboxes" recently installed in ten easy to access locations.

FuelRod's self-serve SwapBox™ provides travelers with "Power Ready to Go" for their mobile phones and tablets through the use of rechargeable battery chargers that eliminate the need for travelers to plug in to an electrical outlet. SwapBox™ kiosks are conveniently located in each of BWI's 5 concourses.

At all FuelRod kiosks, travelers can purchase a FuelRod kit -- which includes a FuelRod charger, a USB charging cable that fits most phones and tablets, and adapters for all Apple devices. The small, rechargeable and environmentally friendly battery delivers up to eight hours of talk time for an Apple® or Android™ smartphone or nearly four hours of usage for a tablet. Each FuelRod kit is priced at just $20 and includes a subscription for free unlimited exchanges at any FuelRod kiosk. Once the battery is depleted, the FuelRod module can be recharged by using any standard USB adaptor, or it can be quickly exchanged at a FuelRod® SwapBox™ for a fresh, fully charged FuelRod.

Retail management at BWI Marshall is handled by AIRMALL USA, which has one of the highest per-passenger spends of all airports in North America and continues to earn industry accolades for innovation and customer service. "We're experiencing great success with the FuelRod kiosks in Cleveland (CLE) and Pittsburgh (PIT) airports, and we're excited to now have this service deployed at Baltimore-Washington (BWI)," said Jaime Daly, CEO of AIRMALL USA. "It's all about positive passenger experience. The portable FuelRods help customers to explore and enjoy the many food and retail amenities our airports offer without the stress of worrying about their mobile-device charge level."

"Responses from users of our FuelRod chargers and SwapBox kiosks have been tremendous as our network has grown across airports both in the United States and Europe, and we're very pleased to add BWI Marshall to this rapidly growing list of locations," said Tricopian co-founder, Joe Yeagley. "Working with AIRMALL has been a great experience as we are focused on our goal of 'un-plugging' travelers from their seats allowing them to charge on the go while experiencing much more of the great shopping and dining that BWI Marshall has to offer. FuelRod's 'Power as a Service' program is gaining fast traction and AIRMALL has been one of its greatest champions."

Travelers can find the FuelRod SwapBox kiosks at a growing number of airports in the United States and Europe. FuelRod chargers can also be purchased online at www.fuel-rod.com. FuelRod can also be found on Twitter @FuelRodPower and on Facebook at FuelRodPower.
