SAN FRANCISCO, CA--(Marketwire - Feb 15, 2013) - The Independent Selection Panel of the Bay Area CFO of the Year Awards announced today Byron Pollitt, Chief Financial Officer of Visa Inc., as the recipient of the Hall of Fame - Lifetime Achievement Award for 2013. Pollitt, along with the finalists and winners in the six other CFO award categories, will be honored at the Eighth Annual Bay Area CFO of the Year Awards event on June 5, 2013 at the Westin St. Francis Hotel in San Francisco.
This annual sold-out awards dinner is attended by over 550 prominent Bay Area business executives. All proceeds benefit homeless and at-risk youth, ages 12-24, served by San Francisco's Larkin Street Youth Services, the leading nonprofit that provides housing, education, job assistance, medical and social services.
Pollitt is being recognized with the Lifetime Achievement Award for a career that has included important contributions at Visa, Gap, and Walt Disney. During his tenure at Visa, six companies were merged to create the present day Visa, and the company completed the then-largest IPO in U.S. history. Visa's stock price has risen over 250% since it debuted. In his role as CFO, Pollitt was named Bay Area CFO of the Year in the Transformation Category in 2009; ranked five times by Institutional Investor as a Top CFO and voted Best CFO for both Specialty Retail in 2005 and Consumer Finance in 2010 and 2013; and selected by The Wall Street Journal as one of the S&P 500's Best CFOs in 2012.

Finalists for the Bay Area CFO of the Year will be announced in April and the winners will be announced at the dinner and awards ceremony on June 5, 2013.
