BYTEGRID(TM) Announces SSAE 16 Type 2 Compliance

Largest Wholesale Data Center in Maryland Validates Company's Commitment to Operational Excellence

SILVER SPRING, MD--(Marketwire - Apr 26, 2012) - BYTEGRID™ Holdings LLC, an emerging company focused on the nationwide acquisition, development and operation of premier wholesale data center facilities, today announced that its ultra-secure Silver Spring, MD data center is now operated under the Statement on Standards for Attestation Engagements (SSAE) 16 Type 2 audited controls. The new framework reaffirms BYTEGRID's commitment to meet the highest standards for operations, availability and security, while making sure all of the appropriate controls and safeguards are firmly in place to protect its tenants.

SSAE 16, which replaces the former SAS 70 standard, is an internationally recognized reporting standard developed by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) that reports on a service organization's controls over services it provides to user entities when those controls are likely to be relevant to user entities' internal control over financial reporting. Completion of the SSAE 16 Type 2 examination, which was performed by KPMG LLP, indicates that selected data center management processes, procedures and controls have been formally evaluated and tested by an independent accounting and auditing firm.

"As one of the largest multi-tenant data center campuses in the Washington, D.C. metro area, BYTEGRID is focused on developing and refining systems and processes that fully secure our tenants' use of our datacenter facilities," said Kenneth R. Parent, Chief Executive Officer of BYTEGRID. "The SSAE 16 examination is an important benchmark for our tenants faced with increasing compliance requirements as they evaluate outsourcing options for their IT infrastructure."

The key difference between the SAS 70 and the SSAE 16 standards is the requirement that management must present an assessment and written assertion of the controls, to which a third-party auditor holds them accountable. As a result, the new report provides substantial insight into the people, processes and technology used to effectively achieve all the control objectives. For BYTEGRID's data center facility, these objectives include physical security, availability and change management, incident and event management, IT continuity and request management.

BYTEGRID's financial-grade facility is strategically located in the heart of the Washington, D.C. metro area data center market and has approximately 214,000 square feet of data center space. The data center has over 22 megawatts of back-up generator capacity and currently features nine megawatts of available power to satisfy the demands of both expanding business and consumer IP traffic, virtualization, mobility and cloud computing.
