BYTEGRID(TM) Receives 2012 Business Recycling Achievement Award

Largest Multi-Tenant Data Center in Maryland Recognized for Continued Excellence in Recycling

SILVER SPRING, MD--(Marketwire - Jul 31, 2012) - BYTEGRID™, an emerging company focused on the nationwide acquisition, development and operation of premier wholesale data center facilities, today announced it received the 2012 Business Recycling Achievement Award for excellence in recycling.

The award was presented by the Montgomery County Department of Environmental Protection as part of their "Smart Organizations Reduce & Recycle Tons" (SORRT) program. Each year the program awards businesses and organizations that during the last five years have reached or surpassed the County's 50 percent recycling goal.

BYTEGRID serves some of the world's largest companies, including a Fortune 15 financial services firm that relies on BYTEGRID and its facility to provide the IT infrastructure underpinning its global business encompassing trillions of dollars in daily transactions with zero downtime.

"Montgomery County is a nationally recognized leader in reducing waste and recycling. Even with our excellent record, though, we constantly push ourselves to do better. We know we owe it to our children," said Robert G. Hoyt, Director of the Montgomery County Department of Environmental Protection.

"As an added incentive to keep the pressure on, the county's new goal is to recycle 70 percent of our waste by 2020. It's one of the most ambitious goals in the entire country, and to get there, everyone must pitch in and do their part."

Hoyt added, "BYTEGRID is leading the way by placing bins throughout its building, making recycling easy for all its employees, all of which helped them achieve a 62 percent recycling rate last year. By making recycling part of their everyday activities, BYTEGRID deserves to be recognized and showcased as a model for others."

"We are pleased to receive this important award from Montgomery County," said Kenneth R. Parent, BYTEGRID's Chief Executive Officer. "As a provider of wholesale data center services, and large consumer of power, we recognize the positive impact we can have in the community by actively participating in waste reduction and recycling. BYTEGRID is committed to corporate and social responsibility and we will be vigilant in ensuring our data centers maintain a strong environmental focus."

BYTEGRID recently announced the completion of its major expansion and infrastructure upgrade at its ultra-secure, financial grade data center in Silver Spring, Maryland. Now featuring more than 90,000 sq ft of raised floor, BYTEGRID features new UPS systems providing a total of nine (9) megawatts of critical load power, cooling systems that exceed Tier III requirements for concurrent maintainability and fault tolerance, and future planned expansions to double critical load power capacity.

To protect its customers' mission-critical applications and data, BYTEGRID's physical security meets NIST FISMA, GSA ISC Level IV standards and network grid connectivity criteria. It is also operated under the Statement on Standards for Attestation Engagements (SSAE) 16 Type 2 audited controls. BYTEGRID's 11-acre campus is entirely gated and integrates a full range of 24/7 physical and logical security features ranging from ballistic rated entrances and checkpoints to biometric registration and authorization systems.
