CA Institute Confers FCA Designation on London Chartered Accountant

Denis Lemieux among 75 Ontario-wide to receive profession's top honour

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Sept. 24, 2009) - The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario has announced the election of 75 Ontario Chartered Accountants as Fellows of the Institute, earning the designation FCA. That includes Denis R. J. Lemieux, FCA, who works in London and resides in Mount Brydges.

The highest designation the Institute confers, Fellowship is awarded for outstanding career achievements as well as outstanding service to the community and the profession.

A CA since 1977, Denis Lemieux recently retired from the position of Managing Partner for Ernst & Young LLP in Southwestern Ontario and Vice Chairman of Ernst & Young Orenda Corporate Finance, one of the leading merger and acquisitions practices in Canada.

Over his career he has contributed his time to many causes in his community including as one of the founders and member of the Board and Executive Committee of the London Enterprise Development Corporation, and as a member of the board/executive of VON, St Joseph's Hospital and MS Society. Under his leadership, the Ernst & Young Southwestern Ontario group recently financed the building of a Habitat for Humanity home in the Kitchener community.

Ontario's Chartered Accountants work in public practice, industry, academe, government and the not-for-profit sector. About three per cent of CAs have earned the FCA designation. Fellowship elections are held every three years.
