CAA North & East Ontario Teams Up With Make-A-Wish Eastern Ontario® to Help Kids in the Ottawa Region

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - March 31, 2009) - CAA North & East Ontario (CAANEO) is pleased to announce their new and exciting partnership with Make-A-Wish® Eastern Ontario to support their Cars for Kids program. Cars for Kids raises money to help grant the wishes of children in our region dealing with life-threatening medical conditions. A wish gives a child something to look forward to, something that doesn't have to do with hospitals, tests and treatments.

"CAA is focused on helping families in our region and giving back to the community," said Ron Smith, CAANEO's Vice President, Marketing. "We are proud to work with the Make-A-Wish Foundation® to help grant wishes to children with life-threatening illnesses in our community."

The Cars For Kids program was initiated in 2008 as a way for people to get rid of their old cars and help grant a child's wish in our community. When you donate your derelict car to the Cars For Kids program, CAA North & East Ontario will pick up your vehicle and tow it to the AIM Cohen and Cohen scrap yard free of charge where it will then be turned into scrap metal. AIM Cohen and Cohen will then make a $150.00 donation to Make-A-Wish® Eastern Ontario in your name for which you will receive a $150.00 tax receipt.

"Make-A-Wish® is thrilled to partner with CAA North & East Ontario," said Mike Wlotzki, Executive Director for Make-A-Wish® Eastern Ontario. "By donating the use of their automotive services to help in the collection of derelict cars, CAANEO is contributing to the success of our Cars for Kids program, and, by extension, our goal of brightening the lives of children in the community of Ottawa."

Donate your scrap car today and get a $150 tax receipt, with 100 per cent of the proceeds going to Make-A-Wish® Eastern Ontario. Call Tina Eggens to arrange your pick-up, 613-234-3555 x 147.
