Caddo Parish, La. Updates Local Government Software With New World Systems' Logos.NET

TROY, MI -- (MARKET WIRE) -- August 9, 2005 -- New World Systems, a leading provider of enterprise-wide software solutions for the public sector, announced today Caddo Parish, La., signed a contract valued at approximately $700,000 for New World's services and integrated Logos.NET™ Public Administration suite of products on the Microsoft® .Net platform.

Caddo Parish licensed Logos.NET Financial Management, Payroll and Human Resources Management, Community Development, and New World's eGovernment eSuite solution to improve processes and services to employees and citizens. New World will replace the Parish's 20-year-old system with Logos.NET, a familiar Microsoft environment that will help maximize resources and reduce learning time.

"A committee was created to review the answers to the request for proposal (RFP), conduct site visits, and observe the software demonstration," said Finance Director Erica Bryant, Caddo Parish, La. "The committee looked first and foremost at software functionality, from reporting to helping us efficiently do our jobs, and we chose New World."

"We are excited about implementing New World's Logos.NET solution because it was the most up-to-date and modern system we saw," said Bryant. "Developed on the .Net platform, it provides us with the latest browser-based technology and the functionality to enhance operations by being able to accomplish more in less time."

Bryant said one of the key features is the reporting capabilities. Real-time data is easily accessible, making it easy to pull statistics on budget status by department or by the Parish as a whole. New World's solution also ties projects to a general ledger account, making the entire project budget process a lot easier.

"When my boss asks me for a report, I will have it in minutes," said Bryant. "The system we've been using requires us to reenter data into Microsoft Excel® to create a report, which can take several hours."

The Human Resources software will provide the Parish with detailed personnel information, such as event tracking, hours, vacation, pay, personal information, grievances, etc. Caddo Parish will automate tasks, such as fund account checks, retrieval of data, payroll deductions, budgeting and more. Currently, the Parish has a number of manual processes that will be soon be automated.

As a Microsoft Certified Partner, New World has committed the development resources required to build and deploy robust solutions designed for all sizes of government agencies. Logos.NET was developed using proven Microsoft .Net technology, industry standard Windows 2000 Server and SQL Server 2000 database. From customizable screens to full suite integration, it will provide government officials fast and easy access to information.

Caddo Parish provides services to approximately 260,000 citizens and supports a workforce of 700. Implementation will begin immediately.
