Cadence Cycling & Multisport Centers Wins New York Design Award

PHILADELPHIA, PA--(Marketwire - June 23, 2008) - Cadence Cycling & Multisport Centers of New York, the world's cycling and multisport authority, is the 2008 recipient of the prestigious Lester Dundes Award for interior retail design. The Lester Dundes Award is New York's most prestigious interior design award and is given out by the International Interior Design Association (IIDA) New York Chapter.

Cadence Cycling & Multisport Centers, which first opened in Philadelphia in May of 2004, has since gone on to be a ground-breaking business in the cycling and multisport industry. Providing high-end retail product in an up-scale environment, Cadence also provides world-class coaching and training for cyclists and multisport athletes in facilities complete with physiological testing labs and indoor training studios.

Based on its regional success in Philadelphia and its world-wide success with coaching, in July of 2008 Cadence opened its Manhattan location on Hudson Street in the trendy TriBeCa neighborhood. Cadence engaged renowned, Manhattan-based TPG Architecture to ensure an unparalleled design and aesthetic experience for Cadence's discriminating clientele.

Alongside TPG Cadence created an unequaled retail and training environment complete with custom designed features to reflect TriBeCa's historical flavor and to enhance the architectural features of the historic building in which Cadence is situated. The center includes a European-style café featuring pastries from Balthazaar, coffees from La Colombe, sandwiches from Eli's, and homemade smoothies and recovery drinks for Cadence athletes. The center also features a dedicated indoor training pool, strength and conditioning studio, mechanical services bay, and a 3,000 square foot training room for indoor cycling and running.

Previous winners of the coveted Lester Dundes award include HBO Stores and Tiffany's. The Lester Dundes award event will take place June 26th, 2008, at 6 p.m. at the Haworth Showroom, 42nd Street and Park Avenue.
