Cadillac Honours Fan Favourites at Toronto International Film Festival®

Past Winners Proven to be Frontrunners for Oscars

OSHAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Sept. 8, 2010) - For the fifth consecutive year, Cadillac, the official ride of the Toronto International Film Festival, is giving movie buffs the opportunity to choose their favourite film with the Cadillac People's Choice Award. Fans will be able to vote for three awards– Favourite Midnight Madness film, Favourite Documentary and Overall Fan Favourite, the Cadillac People's Choice Award.

"Cadillac is proud to offer the everyday movie connoisseur a chance to voice their opinion and support the films that really connect with them," said Kevin Williams, president and managing director, General Motors of Canada. "Festival fans have a history of choosing Oscar frontrunners as the winners of the Cadillac People's Choice Award and I'm sure this year will be no exception."

Audiences can cast their votes after every screening at the official voting stations in each of the presenting theatres. The winners of the 2010 Cadillac People's Choice Awards will be announced on Sunday, September 19, 2010 and will join the elite list of previous People's Choice Award recipients and Oscar contenders - including: Precious: Based on the Novel Push by Sapphire (2009); Slumdog Millionaire (2008); Eastern Promises (2007); Hotel Rwanda (2004); Shine (1996); The Big Chill (1983) and Chariots of Fire (1981).

The director of the Cadillac Peoples Choice Award winner will receive a $15,000 cash prize along with a hand-crafted glass and crystal award designed by Canadian artist Jeff Goodman.

In addition to the People's Choice Award, Cadillac is also the "Official Ride of the Toronto International Film Festival," and will be escorting the stars, directors and producers to the film galas and after parties. This is the inaugural event in Canada to feature the all-new 2011 CTS Coupe. Look for it on the Red Carpet along with the CTS Sport Wagon, SRX and the Cadillac Escalade.

This year Cadillac is also partnering with Holt Renfrew and Variety Magazine at the Variety Studio @ Holt Renfrew. This invite-only studio will operate for four days at the beginning of the Festival and the Cadillac Festival Insider will be there reporting on the stars' visits and interviews live at
