CalAmp Wide Area Network Products Certified by Landis+Gyr for Use in Smart Grid Applications

OXNARD, CA--(Marketwire - Apr 29, 2011) - CalAmp Corp. (NASDAQ: CAMP), a leading provider of wireless products, services and solutions, announced today that Landis+Gyr has successfully verified compatibility of its Gridstream™ smart grid solution with private and public wide area network products from CalAmp.

Landis+Gyr successfully completed testing of three data back-haul solutions from CalAmp, including the Vanguard 3G for use with cellular networks, the Viper SC for private RF networks in licensed bands, and the Phantom II for unlicensed 902-928 MHz networks. Following testing, Landis+Gyr certified the products as interoperable with the Gridstream RF network.
