CalAmp's Innovative LMU-3030 Certified by Sprint and Is Now Commercially Available Through Its Network

OXNARD, CA--(Marketwired - Feb 5, 2014) - CalAmp (NASDAQ: CAMP), a leading provider of wireless products, services and solutions, announced today that its LMU-3030™ wireless tracking/communications device has been certified by Sprint and is now commercially available for use in the cellular carrier's Usage-Based Insurance (UBI) programs and a broad range of other telematics services.

CalAmp's new LMU-3030 product for Sprint features high-sensitivity GPS for reliable location and tracking, CDMA wireless technology for robust mobile communications, and patent-pending triple-axis accelerometer motion sensing technology for detecting aggressive driving maneuvers such as harsh acceleration, braking and cornering, and high-impact events. With optimized internal antennas, a backup battery for tamper resistance and compact size, the "plug-and-go" LMU-3030 can be quickly and easily installed. The direct interface with the vehicle data bus provides comprehensive access to vehicle information and fault codes that help assess status and operational characteristics.
