Caleb Sima Joins Armorize Technologies as CEO

Renowned Application Security Expert to Lead Aggressive Growth in U.S. Market

SAN FRANCISCO, CA--(Marketwire - February 22, 2010) -  Armorize Technologies, the Santa Clara-based provider of integrated Web application security solutions, today announced the appointment of Caleb Sima as its new Chief Executive Officer. Armorize founder Wayne Huang will take on the role of Chief Technology Officer and will continue to work closely with Sima to drive technology development and increase market share.

Sima previously founded SPI Dynamics in 2000, and as CTO oversaw the development of WebInspect, a solution that set the bar in Web application security testing tools. When Hewlett-Packard (HP) acquired SPI Dynamics in 2007, Sima took on the role of Chief Technologist at HP's Application Security Center, where he directed the company's security solutions' lifecycles and spearheaded development of its cloud-based security service. In this role, he also managed a team of accomplished security experts who have received worldwide recognition for their successes in identifying new security threats and devising advanced countermeasures.

A thought leader and technical visionary in the Web application security field, Sima has co-authored textbooks on the subject, is a frequent media contributor and regularly speaks at key industry conferences such as RSA and Blackhat. At Armorize, he will leverage his experience and success to deliver simple and effective protection against Web application security threats.

With offices in the U.S. and Asia as well as an extensive partner network, Armorize has seen strong international growth since its founding in 2006. Sima will build on Armorize's global reputation and recent successes to drive sales and market share in the U.S. Web application security and malware protection marketplace.

"I am very excited to be a part of the leadership team at Armorize and I look forward to working closely with Wayne to further build upon his international successes," said Sima. "Armorize has captured the Asia Pacific Web application security market and I look forward to steering them to similar success in the U.S."

Armorize Appsec Suite™ protects businesses from Internet-based attackers seeking to steal corporate and customer information through vulnerable Web applications. Integrating code analysis that identifies vulnerabilities before deployment with firewall technology and malicious software (malware) injection monitoring capabilities, this solution offers true end-to-end Web application security. Appsec Suite™ is ideally positioned to protect businesses from Internet-based attacks, such as those that have recently targeted a number of U.S. companies.

"Armorize has seen amazing international growth in the last two years," said Armorize founder and CTO Wayne Huang. "We know that under Caleb's leadership, we can continue aggressively expanding our footprint in the U.S. market. He is a pioneer in the application security industry and has proven successes at SPI and HP. We look forward to even greater success under his leadership."

Sima and Huang will present together at RSA Conference 2010 in San Francisco. In their session entitled "How You Are Already Infected by Web Malware," they will discuss and demonstrate how the recent highly publicized attacks on companies such as Google utilized Web malware and how Web application-specific security controls can prevent reoccurrences.
