Calgary Author, Educator and Guinness World Records Holder Launch Book to Battle Bullying

CALGARY, AB--(Marketwired - February 05, 2016) - In their continuing work to battle bullying at a young age, local author and editor Olyn Ozbick, teacher Lais Rumel, and 6-time Guinness World Records holder (Frisbee Rob) McLeod have combined forces to publish a fun and educational picture book for children, parents and educators.

The book launches at an interactive event Friday, February 5 at 7 pm at ARCHEloft in Calgary, #200, 1209 1st St. SW.

Titled The Davy Rule, the children's book uses McLeod's real life dog, Frisbee Catch World Champion and 2-time Guinness World Record holder Davy Whippet to help children learn to be kind to others and deal with bullying.

The book is filed with the fun, bright dog illustrations of Shannon Darch.

Highlighted words linked to a glossary guide parents and teachers in opening up conversations about ideas that promote healthy character development. Colouring pages allow very young readers to interact with the concepts and images.

The launch is a collaborative event with ARCHEloft so many vendors will be in attendance, including 3D artists, and artist Rachel Raphael Kapler who will auction two unique art pieces using frisbees as her canvas.

Davy Whippet the frisbee dog will be available to offer 'pawtographs'.

Olyn Ozbick is a fiction and non-fiction writer whose work has been published extensively in magazines and literary journals and an award-winning local editor, publisher and writing instructor. Rob McLeod holds 6 Guinness World Records (2 of them with Davy), 10 Frisbee World Championships (4 of them with Davy) and is the exclusive thrower to Davy. Lais Rumel brings her training in education and experience as an elementary school teacher to help offer solutions.
